What’s new
What has changed in FamilyVault from version to version. The app is updated through the App Store.
Version 1.1October 2026
- PDF import: Invoices, contracts and warranty receipts can be added straight from a PDF (“Import PDF” in the scan flow). The PDF’s text layer is read, scanned pages go through text recognition – and the original PDF is kept with the entry.
- Send to FamilyVault: Share PDFs and images from Mail, Files or Safari directly to FamilyVault. The app first asks “Where should this file go?” – then the usual recognition runs, with the confirmation screen.
- Sharing: Print scans and PDFs, save them to Files or send them by mail – as a PDF (all pages in one A4 file) or as an image. In the image viewer via “Share”, on previews with a long press.
- Data export: Settings › Data Export creates a JSON file with all documents, contracts, warranties, food items, tags and shelf-life rules – optionally including images and PDFs. To keep as a backup or to take your data to another app.
- Warranty length in months: Terms like “24 months” are now recognised as months (previously they could turn into years). The warranty end date is exact to the month, even for 18 months.
